FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) – Homeless residents in Fort Smith will soon have a new transitional housing option.
Next Step Homeless Services is building two transitional houses for families. The first of the two will be ready for a family by the end of April.
The program will allow groups to stay in the homes until they can find a permanent place to live.
Not only will homeless residents have a place to live, but they will also have access to all resources that next step offers, according to Kim Wohlford with Next Step.
"Perhaps you've had health problems, you've lost your job. There are all kinds of reasons that make someone homeless, but we want to offer the best solutions we can for getting you out of homelessness,” Wohlford said.
